RamSpam - The Official 'Unofficial' CSU Rams News & Commentary
Volume 2, Issue 1

January 16, 2001

Welcome to RamSpam, a hastily thrown together yet addictive news and commentary.  The intent is to provide readers (those who can stomach it) with information, news, commentary , insight, and general minutiae on our beloved CSU Rams.   Topics, suggestions, commentary, rants, complaints, tips, inside information are all much appreciated.  Simply reply to the list or send to [email protected] and you may see your words immortalized here in the future.  What a thrill.  RamSpam is published on a sporadic frequency or to be specific: "Occurring at irregular intervals; having no pattern or order in time".   Note that we did consider a spasmodic or semioccasional schedule, but felt that sporadic was most appropriate.

Rammies Win!   Rammies Win!
Rams Win!RamSpam took an extra long time celebrating the new year.  Specifically, I basked in the glory of a CSU Liberty Bowl championship season... as I know all of you Rammies fans did also.  Now that there's been time for it to sink in, I'm sure you've no doubt read and heard alot of the same stuff I have in celebration of the success:
  • 4 conference titles in 5 seasons
  • 5 conference titles in 7 seasons
  • Highest final AP ranking ever: 14
  • 3rd 10-win season in CSU history all by Lubick

Well, you may think it's interesting, or not, but how about some different number crunching on the Rammies?  Here are some fun, interesting, and FINAL numbers on the Rams and their bowl appearances, among other things..

No dates are set yet, but the 2001 Football will include the following, in no particular order:
  • Louisville - the rematch at Louisville, a place they call the "boneyard" - I guess we'll see...
  • Colorado - probably at Folsom - three-peat???  Oh-yeah!
  • Nevada - Home - Rammies 5 - 0 all-time vs. Wolfpack
  • Fresno State - Home - 4 - 3 all-time vs. Bulldogs, but owe them for a 13-44 pasting in Fresno in 1999
  • 7 MWC opponents
Happy Birthday...
A RamSpam Happy Birthday to Kit Maxwell - fellow Rammie and CSU alum!  Good job old man!  Condolences for being over the hill can be sent to Kit at: [email protected]
I won't be so cruel as to broadcast Kit's age, but be sure of this, the fire department will be on hand for the lighting of the cake...
Next Issue...
Okay, okay, I'm falling behind, I know... this was supposed to be what was up next last issue... what can I say, I've been busy.  Anyway, we'll keep the bar just as high for next time:
